Welcome to a new chapter of social media for the nonprofit organization Believe Guatemala. We at Believe Guatemala have been overwhelmed with the work that the Lord is doing in Guatemala and within the community that we are centered in. We are so thankful for the love and support from so many who have partnered with us to pray, financially support and who have chosen to participate in a mission trip with us. It is because of this, that we have created a blog where we will be able to share in more detail what incredible things are happening in the everyday life of the organization and also hear from you and give you the chance to put in words your experiences while partnering with Believe Guatemala.
Our hopes with this blog, is to not boast in our human capabilities or what we have done but to boast in what the Lord is doing and allowing us to do in Guatemala. It is only by the power and love of Jesus Christ that we are able to do what we are doing. In Psalms 34:2, King David says this, “My soul shall make it’s boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad.” Again, in Psalms 44:8, “In God we boast all day long, and praise Your name forever.” And one of my favorites about boasting is 1 Corinthians 1:31, “As it is written, ‘He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”
We are constantly reminded throughout Scripture, that if we are to boast, boast only in the Lord, not in our own strength, wisdom or riches, but boast in the creator and provider of strength, wisdom and riches (Jeremiah 9:23-24). We at Believe Guatemala strongly believe in boasting, praising the Lord for His gifts and His blessings. It is because of this, we are excited to share with you about His love, His provision, His mercy, His grace and His awesome power and work that he is allowing to take place in Guatemala through Believe Guatemala.
